The South Dakota Association of the Blind (SDAB) is an organization whose purpose is:
  • To promote the general welfare of the blind and visually impaired throughout the state of South Dakota;
  • To bring the public a better understanding of the efforts and aims of those persons with disabilities;
  • To create a spirit of cooperation between blind and sighted people;
  • To be of general service, help, and inspiration to the blind, and work for the blind.
